2How far in advance should I schedule my snowbird startup?
Schedule 48-72 hours before your arrival for best results. This gives us time to identify any issues and get them resolved before you walk in the door. If we find a problem (AC not cooling, plumbing leak, pest issue), you want us to have time to fix it—not discover it when you're exhausted from traveling. Many of our snowbird clients schedule the same date every year.
3What if you find problems during the startup inspection?
As licensed general contractors with plumbing, HVAC, and electrical capabilities, we can fix most problems on the spot or within 24-48 hours. Common issues we find: AC refrigerant leaks from sitting idle, stagnant water concerns, pest activity, dead smoke detector batteries, failed water heaters, and landscape irrigation problems. We'll call you immediately with what we found, the cost to fix it, and how quickly we can resolve it.
4Do you offer pool startup for snowbird homes?
Yes—our Pool & Spa Startup add-on is $149 and includes: chemical testing and balancing, pump and filter inspection, heater check, skimmer and return verification, and visual equipment assessment. After sitting for months, pools need proper startup to avoid equipment damage and ensure safe water quality. We can have your pool swim-ready by the time you arrive.
5Can you stock my refrigerator before I arrive?
Yes—our Grocery Stocking add-on starts at $75 plus grocery costs. Give us your shopping list and preferences, and we'll have your fridge and pantry stocked with fresh items. This is one of our most popular add-ons. Nothing beats walking into a fully stocked kitchen after a long travel day. We buy everything fresh on the day of your startup appointment.
